2008 Information
Unfortunately, with the boating market being what it is this year we were unable to secure enough sponsorship to organize a Winnebago Rally in 2008.
BUT...That didn't stop us from having some "come on your own accord," fun! The Winnebago Rally was founded on a group of boaters simply getting together to socialize. At the Rally's core, that's what it's really been all about. So, we are happy to invite you to what we will term a "Rally Reunion." Same great people, same great waterways, but just a relaxed, informal meeting of boating enthusiasts.
The first weekend in Aug. is the traditional Rally weekend. So, this year there was an informal gathering on Sat. Aug. 2nd. A group of us met and boated as an informal group. The plan looked something like this:
9:30-10AM: Waterfront park, we left at 10:30AM and headed up to the Fremont area to keep the tradition of the rally. We had lunch at the newly named Channel Cats (old Slipknot,) what was great. The food was much improved over previous years and the new owner was taking a very active role in insuring everyone had a good time! We'd like to thank the dedicated group that showed up for this year’s informal gathering. Everyone seemed to have a good time, I know I did! We look forward to seeing everyone in 2009. We've already contacted some tentative sponsors and we'll see what type of activities we can organize for next year. 1PMish: Met at the Weedbeds on Lake Poygan to socialize for the afternoon. We hung out with the group and socialized from boat to boat. Much fun was had and the setting was very relaxed.
3-8pm:The main group headed to Winneconne about 5:00 for the band at the Fin and Feather, but some of us headed over to The Other Place for dinner. After that the evening activities included bouncing from establishment to establishment and calling it quits late in the evening.
